Extend the existing roof, don’t fight it

Whenever possible we extend existing roof geometry instead of forcing in a new shape. This usually looks better and can be easier to flash correctly.

Sequence with other trades

Framing, roofing, stucco and gutters all touch the same edge of the building. A clear sequence keeps crews from undoing each other’s work.

Think about future solar

If you plan to add solar later, it can be smart to coordinate panel layout and roof penetrations during a major addition instead of after the fact.
